EN - This thesis project investigates the increasing presence of digital identities and digital afterlife services, thus shedding light on the contemporary engagement with mortality. The research paper discusses a variety of cross-disciplinary aspects of the digital afterlife (industry). In the framework of the work, a speculative online survey issued in an installation that encourages reflection on how the increasing digitalization of identities might transform the (societal and) individual perceptions of death in the digital age. What possible futures could emerge from these shifts?
